The Music is Still Alive, Blues is Back
(PRWeb) January 7, 2007 -- There are certain feelings one will obtain when hearing the soulful sounds of Verbon Kelley and his blues band for the first time. First, there is a feeling of excitement. This excitement comes from the atmosphere created by the masses. The location of this particular show was at Universal Studios City Walk's B.B. King's. B.B. King's can hold up to 700 people on any given night. The night of Verbon Kelley and the Verbon Kelley Blues Band show was no exception. The house was packed and the line outside the door was wrapped around the upper level of the City Walk. Crowds of people were standing in line anxiously waiting to be let in. Some came for the food, others for experience and many with one reason, to hear true blues from a man with great character and an enchanting voice, Verbon Kelley.
Secondly, one will begin to feel enraptured. This feeling comes only when the band is actually performing. The sound of Blues filled the overcrowded B.B. King's with such intensity and dynamic. It was truly amazing that the noise of 700 people moving about could not quiet the forceful echo of blues booming from Kelley and his blues band. Even when performing a gentler blues song there still seemed to be a power behind his voice that captivated the audience.
Lastly, one will begin to feel that they have obtained a tiny piece of history. A piece of history that is significant and critical to understanding the souls of black men and women who have made a difference in the way we live today and in music; people who have suffered, who have loved and who have lost everything. Verbon Kelley has spent most of his life singing the blues, singing because he understands, because he wants everyone to understand and appreciate the sound and meaning behind the music. His show on Saturday, December 30, 2006 was passionate and impossible for any of the other acts to follow.
