New San Francisco-Based Music Collective -- SHIFT/TILT Continues Successful Monthly Event

(PRWeb) February 13, 2007 -- San Francisco, an incubator of new musical movements, is also a hotbed of emerging live electronic musical groups. SF's finest musicians, DJs, video artists (VJs) and visual artists have formed a new collective and begun an exciting new monthly event called Shift/Tilt.

Following its successful first event in January, Shift/Tilt's second night of sonic bliss will be held on Saturday February 24th, and will continue on the last Saturday of every month at 330 Ritch. The event is hosted by San Francisco Bay Area musical groups Artemis, Beatropolis, Karmacoda, Moped, Return to Mono and Sutro in conjunction with 92.7's "Below Zero". Collectively, the group saw a need for a night of great live music, DJs, visuals and art that showcased artists specializing in performing electronic music live: gifted musicians playing real instruments and live singers singing engaging songs.

Below Zero is excited to join forces with the collective Shift/Tilt to help bring together live music along with the sounds of the underground downbeats from its residents such as Sinukus, Peek, Red Stick Man and Didje Kelli. Below Zero brings downtempo sounds to the Bay Area every Sunday night from 8 p.m. until Midnight on Energy 92.7 FM. http://www.belowzerobeats.com. With guest DJ's in every week along with some of the most cutting edge chill tracks, show Host and DJ Mason Rothert takes you on a four-hour journey.

Musically, Shift/Tilt's sound will be akin to Massive Attack and Portishead joining forces with Tortoise and Lamb. All of this happens surrounded by a backdrop of amazing local art and cutting edge visual projections. However, Shift/Tilt is intended to be about more than just music and art. Shift/Tilt creates an upscale, intelligent social ambience where scenesters and jazzheads can comfortably rub elbows while experiencing the most current sounds of San Francisco's underground live electronic music movement.

The next monthly event will be held on Saturday February 24th at 330 Ritch, showcasing resident bands Moped, Artemis and Beatropolis who will present an evening of trip-hop/downtempo live electronic nirvana. Each group presents a different facet of the electronic music mélange, but all feature hypnotic beats, great musicians, amazing vocals and most importantly an incredible live show. Mason Rothert, one of the original co-founders of the electronic music collective -- Thump Radio, Inc. from San Francisco -- aka DJ Masonic -- will showcase his amazing skills of spinning engaging, chill beats. A scattershot of collective fluid memories will be projected by VJ Media Man and VJ AJ. In addition, the walls will be covered with award-winning art and photographs by special guests.

Sheet music keeps your on the notes
Sheet music can be traced back in history as far back as 1457 - long before recorded music was invented. The first recorded sheet music that exists today is a book by Mainz Psalter. Not many forms of recording data have remained intact for so long. If you take languages, many of the earliest forms of writing are now obsolete; only the basic routes have survived into modern day languages. Sheet music can therefore be considered to be almost universal and transcends all cultures and nationalities. Discount sheet music can be purloined on many websites and in many forms. There is a big demand from schools and other musical establishments that specialise in music related to all forms of music. Even the most modern tunes have to be written and r...
