Digital Music Pioneer Ted Cohen Joins IMEEM'S Board of Directors

San Francisco, Calif. (PRWeb) March 7, 2007 - IMEEM, an innovative media-centric social network, today announced the addition of Ted Cohen, former Senior Vice President from EMI Music and current Managing Partner of digital media advisory TAG Strategic, to their Board of Directors. Cohen will play a key strategic role in helping IMEEM to further develop an innovative social networking service which enables creative expression, recommendation, and discovery.

Cohen is a seasoned music industry executive with over twenty-five years of experience in both the music business and the digital media environment. Currently Cohen heads up TAG Strategic, consulting to senior entertainment, technology and media executives. Prior to TAG Strategic, Cohen made extensive contributions in digital music distribution and licensing strategies while he was the Senior Vice President of Digital Development and Distribution for EMI Music. In his role at EMI, Cohen acted as a key strategist for global new media and anti-piracy efforts, and created digital policies benefiting EMI's artists and labels. The inaugural licensing agreements for both the Rhapsody subscription service and the iTunes Music Store were negotiated by Cohen during his EMI tenure. Before EMI, Cohen was the Executive Vice President of the Digital Music Network Inc., where he co-founded and served as Chairman of the Webnoize conferences. Earlier in his career, Cohen ran media consulting operations for both DMN Consulting and Consulting Adults, and held senior management positions at both Warner Bros. Records and Philips Media.

Cohen currently holds the elected position of Chairman of the Mobile Entertainment Forum America's Board, and chairs MidemNet, an international music and technology conference held in Cannes each year. Other positions held by Cohen include serving on the NARAS (Grammy) Los Angeles Chapter of the Board of Governors as well as the National Grammy Trustee Board, the Board of Directors for the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund, the Advisory Board for the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at New York University, and participating in music and technology education efforts such as the Grammy in the Schools Program.

"There are a ton of social networking and user-generated content sites, but IMEEM stands out because of their media-centric approach, the vision of its executive team, and the pure fun of its site and social media feature set," said Ted Cohen. "I am excited contribute to the IMEEM goal of creating both an innovative user experience and a powerful new expression and discovery model for labels, artists, and fans. Stay tuned for interesting new developments and innovative new partnerships from IMEEM!"

"We are extremely excited to have Ted Cohen, a digital music industry visionary, join our Board of Directors," said Dalton Caldwell, founder and chief executive officer of IMEEM. "We clearly recognize that Ted will bring a unique and bold perspective to our team and contribute to our long term goal of creating a truly innovative media-centric social networking service. We share a deep focus on innovation and we think Ted's insights and experience will be very valuable in helping to guide IMEEM in the years ahead."
