Indie Bands to Rock Albuquerque at the Hyperactive Music Festival and Conference

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) April 18, 2007 -- Imagine what would happen if the center of the music universe became Albuquerque for a weekend. Well, that's exactly what happens during the Hyperactive Music Festival & Conference. Music industry executives, bands, and fans come together to share, learn and network. This three day event features panels, discussions, music, film and over 120 performing artists. The festival and conference will be held May 17-19, located in and around downtown Albuquerque.

Performers from all across the country will be sharing their talents, including Jodelle, a singer-songwriter from New Jersey who performed at the first annual Hyperactive Music Festival and Conference last June. "The Hyperactive Music Festival is, by far, one of the best conferences I've attended - very well organized, friendly staff, a great networking and performance opportunity for independent artists," says Jodelle. "Albuquerque has some very cool venues within walking distance to each other and just a really nice vibe for music." Jodelle performs on Saturday at the Carom Club, one of Albuquerque's newest lounges owned by New Mexico's three-time state pool champion Ramona Biddle. In all, over 120 performing artists will be showcasing their talents in several venues throughout Albuquerque, including The El Rey Theater and KiMo Theatre. Performances begin at 6:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Hyperactive conference panels and seminars will be held at the Wyndham Hotel Albuquerque at 2910 Yale Blvd., SE, on Friday and Saturday between 11:00 am and 5:30 pm. Music industry executives from across the country will be on hand to share their advice and engage in one-on-one networking. Industry representatives will be on hand to discuss all aspects of the music industry.

Wristbands are available for $10.00 and include access to all three days of performances. For those wishing to attend the panel and conference, "VIP" wristbands are available for $35.00 and include access to performances. For more information, call the Hyperactive Music Festival headquarters at (505) 856-7602 or visit hyperactivefestival.com.

10 Reasons to Buy Music from Independent Artists
Musicians develop their own labels for many different reasons. My reason is partly because of a challenge I took on at a young age, to take what I was told was an unmarketable instrument, the violin, and create music that expressed emotions, touched hearts, and ultimately, sold. Whatever the reason for creating their own labels, musicians sometimes forget the advantages they hold and focus instead on the multitude of challenges.
