Music Scene Turns Attention to Wisconsin -- Legend Les Paul Returns Home for Concert

Waukesha, WI (PRWEB) May 10, 2007 -- The nation's music scene turns its attention toward Milwaukee this week as legendary guitarist Les Paul, the Wizard of Waukesha, returns home to play for the first time in decades.

The concert is part of the fundraising effort to support the building of The Les Paul Experience, the largest exhibit project for the Waukesha County Museum. Backed by a number of private and corporate sponsors, including local music product company, Aleken Games, a special dinner and concert starring Les Paul & His Trio will be held on May 10th at the Milwaukee Marriott West Hotel. Les Paul, who will be 92 years old on June 9th, will play a complete set with his Trio at the event.

Ken Eichstaedt, president of Aleken Games, maker of the music trivia games, Rock & Roll Triviologies, Country Music Triviologies, and the all-new Long Live Rock games, said, "We've been a part of the effort for the new exhibit, and as a local company that's also based in Waukesha, it is our honor to support the museum and sponsor Les Paul's Homecoming concert."

Aleken Games is one of the Premier Sponsors for the event and has been advising Executive Director Sue Baker of The Les Paul Experience with marketing ideas and information on how other major music museums and exhibits across the U.S are operated. The Les Paul project at the museum will be a 5,500 square-foot exhibit dedicated entirely to the Wizard of Waukesha.

"We made it a point of going to see Les Paul and His Trio when we were in New York in February for the International Toy Fair. We were launching our new game, Long Live Rock, when we learned that Les Paul plays every Monday Night at The Iridium Jazz Club in New York City. It was amazing to see him in person," Eichstaedt said. "Now, it is almost unbelievable that Aleken Games can be a part of his homecoming concert right here in Waukesha."

Eichstaedt and Aleken Games have extensive experience working with a number of music museums and exhibits across the U.S. "Our games are sold at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Experience Music Project, The Gibson Museum, The Buddy Holly Center, and The Country Music Hall of Fame, The Smithsonian and others. Naturally, we have an interest in seeing the Les Paul Experience completed and successful. Les Paul is an amazing talent and his contributions to the music industry are legendary." In addition, Eichstaedt states, "Anyone who has anything to do with the music industry from all corners of the world knows who Les Paul is, and that's good for Waukesha and the long-term success of the exhibit."
