Anna Nicole Smith's Baby Can be Downloaded From the iTunes Music Store
Toronto, CAN (PRWEB) July 6, 2007 -- Even after death, celebrities like Anna Nicole Smith continue to influence popular culture. A Canadian band, Spring Forth, has just had their single, 'Anna Nicole Smith's Baby', released on the iTunes music store.
According to the band's MySpace site, "This footstompin' Euro romp will get you shakin' your SlimFast booty! The hypnotic repetition of the song mirrors the hypnotic repetition we endured through the media, CNN, Larry King and everyone else, talking non-stop about Anna Nicole Smith's Baby!"
It seems like the band has a sense of humour as revealed in their band description: "Spring Forth is a Rural Ural Euro band with Scottish-Canadian roots, shoots and leaves." Their devotion to Anna Nicole is evident through listening to the track. Who would have thought that a small baby would have created so much media hype?
Anna Nicole Smith's Baby recently came fourth (appropriately enough) in the ourstage.com music competition (experimental category). Spring Forth is also listed in Urb Magazine this month as 'up and coming musicians ... who rose to the top -- worthy of a great big high five."
Spring Forth band members are unfazed by their recent brush with celebrity. In fact, their whole approach is to 'dis' celebrities, as revealed in the description of the band in the liner notes of their album. "Spring Forth uses music to bring focus to the fact that the world is being hypnotized by the cult of celebrity which takes people away from focusing on the environment ... and other important stuff."
Would Anna approve of the song? "I think she would, says Lara, the 'environmentalist' band spokesperson. 'We did the song with all acoustic instruments -- banjo, harmonica, stand-up bass, fiddles, etc., as a tribute to her rural roots. I think she would get the joke. She had a great sense of humor and we miss her terribly."
Spring Forth is comprised of Luther, Lara and Molly Mouse, the chihuahua. If you listen closely you can hear Molly sing the infamous last words, 'Whose your Daddy?' at the end of Anna Nicole Smith's Baby.
