New Record Label, "Uncle Buster's House Of Grooves," Opens With First Release, Online Music Store and Internet Radio Station
Los Angeles, CAvJazz and funk have a new home at Uncle Buster's House Of Grooves, offering both compact discs and downloads by House Of Grooves artists, as well as compact discs by classic funk, fusion, and jazz artists.
The House Of Grooves label has released it's premiere release by veteran Dallas, Texas saxman David Carr Jr., entitled DCJ4 which represents Carr's fourth career release. The label has also licensed and made available his previous three releases: 1995's Sounds Of Innosense, 2003's double disc set In Too Deep, and 2005's I Thought You Knew. Carr's style varies from sultry and smooth to powerfully soulful and funky. His recent release features veteran jazz fusion players drummer Rayford Griffin (Stanley Clarke, Jean Luc Pontry, George Howard) and bassist Sekou Bunch (Tom Browne, George Howard, Quincy Jones, The Isley Brothers, Dreamgirls).
DCJ4 is available in CD form at HouseOfGrooves.com and CD Baby, and all four titles are available in pay-per-download form as both complete titles, and on individual song basis, at HouseOfGrooves.com, as well as iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody and other outlets.
House Of Grooves also offers definitive Warner Bros. CD collections and anthologies by Prince, Tower Of Power, Bootsy Collins, Average White Band, The Time, Larry Graham and Graham Central Station, Roger and Zapp, Bob James, George Benson and more.
House Of Grooves Radio is part of the Live365 internet radio network, and is available at HouseOfGroovesRadio.com. It features a format of funk, jazz fusion, smooth jazz, and old school soul. Twenty-four hour per day commercial free broadcasting is hosted by the company's very own namesake / spokes-figure, Melvin "Uncle Buster" Greaves, whom according to the "About Uncle Buster" link on the website, is a veteran concert venue owner for decades past, having watched and participated in the changes in taste and music for years.
Uncle Buster's delivery is irreverent, quite casual, and lacking in political correctness, adding to the down-home flavor of the funk and jazz music by both the classic big name artists, as well as what Uncle Buster refers to as the "New Movement" of funk bands, representing a current resurgence in the genre. With phrases like "A certified dootie-slingin' funk band...", "That band's got a nasty bump...", and "Somethin' for the bump-a-holics", his flavor matches the homey nature of the music.
House Of Grooves Radio is producing upcoming theme related shows based on particular regions, labels and eras of funk and jazz, such as Solar Records, the Cincinnati / Dayton sound, the Washington DC Go-Go Beat era, Funk Classics Done Live, the works of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, as well as a Sunday Gospel Show covering the history of Black Gospel. HouseOfGroovesRadio.com has an email subscription form, to sign up for announcements and scheduling of new theme shows.
Uncle Buster's House Of Grooves is a Division of Fisher Neurospace Technologies, Inc.. It's CEO / President is six-time Grammy Nominee Bob Fisher, a former Johnnie Taylor keyboardist, Capitol Records artist, veteran reissue producer / engineer, and 16 year President of Pacific Multimedia Corp.
