Ohio Alt-Country Singer Featured in New Music Video
Ithaca, NY (PRWEB) December 12, 2007 -- Diesel Movie Werks, an Ithaca, NY based film Production Company announced this week the production of the music video for Youngstown, Ohio's B.J. O'Malley. The five-minute video, featuring "The Whiskey Song" was filmed this fall in Ithaca, NY and at Kinzua Bridge State Park in western Pennsylvania. The video will be released via Internet as well as distributed to country music television in January. While filming, the producers also filmed a second video for O'Malley's "Wish I Never" which also appears on her 2007 "Sweet Baby Freaker" release.
"We first discovered B.J. when she contributed two songs to our feature film soundtrack and since then have been following her career," said Eric C Lindstrom, Director and producer of the independent feature film, "Waiting on Alphie." "We have long wanted to produce a music video for her and when this opportunity came along we couldn't turn it down."
The video features New York actress Lindsay Clynne as the sultry bartender and actor Will Fox as the heartbroken patron at an out-of-the-way country bar. As Lindsay's character tries to vie for Will's affection, his thoughts continue to turn to his true love, B.J. Scenes for the bar were filmed at Rogue's Harbor Inn in Lansing, NY and the outdoor scenes were filmed at the site of the now-destroyed Kinzua Bridge near Bradford, PA.
"We wanted the scenes of B.J. to seem far away, in many regards, from the bar setting," Lindstrom said. "When we found out about the Kinzua Bridge and its demise during a 2003 tornado, we thought it could make the perfect backdrop for the scenes featuring B.J." While at the Pennsylvania State Park, the crew also had an opportunity to film additional scenes of B.J. as well as the once-301 foot tall bridge.
A concert featuring Hubcap's Steve Gollnick and B.J. O'Malley will be held along with a video release party on December 20th at Castaways in Ithaca. For more information, please contact Eric C Lindstrom at 607-277-8901.
