LiveKite.com Launches Free Service For Christian Groups - Stay Connected: Christian Groups, Friends, & Music.
Asheville, NC (PRWEB) April 23, 2008 -- Two veterans of the Christian publishing industry are delving back into the market in a new way- through the launch of a FREE website that helps Christian church groups manage their connectivity. LiveKite.com (http://livekite.com/)
"Christians meet in groups. It's how we connect with one another on a regular basis. It's how we share our lives," says co-founder Doss Church. "But oftentimes, we meet in our church small groups, we really only have 30 minutes or so to talk with one another. Livekite allows us to continue our conversations online in between meetings."
Like other popular social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook, Livekite users join the site by creating a personal profile that is viewable online. The profile contains a photo and information on the user's age, sex, interests, and other information that one would typically find on a networking site. Unlike those other sites, however, Livekite's user tools were developed specifically for group connection & communication. Most groups currently using Livekite are active on their group forums, and access the group calendars regularly. Some groups even keep up-to-date videos and podcasts of recent sermons on their group's page, to keep church members in the loop if they happen to miss a meeting. Group leaders have the ability to message everyone in their group with a single click and simple but effective privacy settings allow all Livekite members and groups to stay in control of their information on the site at all times.
"Livekite was designed with Christian groups in mind, but it can be used by anyone," stresses Stephen Lutz, the other co-founder of the company. "You can use Livekite as a way to share your music if you are an artist. You can use it as your church website, or as an extension of your church website. You can use it as a fundraising tool if you belong to a missions group or ministry. Or, you can just use Livekite as a way to meet people with ideas and interests similar to your own."
Already, the site has attracted users from as far away as New Zealand and Great Britain, in its second month of public launch. And, with an ad set to run in Focus on the Family's monthly publication in December, it's likely that Livekite's founders will soon be well on the way to accomplishing their company's mission statement: "To increase unity within the body of Christ by providing a safe online community environment where Christians can gather, communicate, share, and enjoy the fruits of creativity on a global scale."
