How do you name, create and activate a fintech brand that plans to turn the payments industry on its head?

WyzePay are a fintech startup aimed at positively disrupting the global consumer and B2B payments sector. Through blockchain technology they are creating a platform to trade their corporate digital currency. This platform is set to rival the current tradition and digital payment systems we have today.

Our brief was to name the business, the tech platform and the currency. Following trademarking we then created the brand, visual identity and marketing comms.

Solution.

How we raised the bar for WyzePay.

Our goal was to create a brand that straddled the fine balance between being a trusted business with a challengers’ attitude. The naming strategy focused on the real customer and business benefits of being ‘savvy’ with your finances, to get more for your money by paying it advance. The ‘wiser way’ to pay was a central idea we played with and modernised to ‘Wyze’ to fit into a ‘challenger brand’ visual and verbal language.
